| Evaluation procedure of project applications. The MC2 department has set up a user group selection panel, which will assist in the selection of the user groups, according to the conditions set out. The user group selection panel shall assess all proposals received and recommend a short-list of the user groups that should benefit under the contract. In so doing, it will apply the principles of transparency, fairness and impartiality. The user group selection panel is composed of international experts in the field. The user group selection panel shall base its selection on scientific merit, taking into account that priority should be given to user groups who: - have not previously used the infrastructure, and - are working in countries where no such research infrastructures exist. Normally the access time for a project is limited to 3 months. Before selecting user groups requiring access exceeding 3 months, the access provider shall seek prior written approval of the Commission. Evaluation timeschedule: 1.After the bimonthly deadline for application has passed, the project manager will collect the applications and consider if all eligability aspects are fulfilled. 2. The project manager will organise the technical evaluation of the proposal togehter with our local technical expertise. 3. The user group selection panel consist of four persons who will evaluate the scientific quality. 4. As soon as the panel has evaluated all applications, the decision will be distributed to the group leader by email as indicated in the application. 5. The research group leader must confirm about the their acceptance, and a contract between the user and the MC2ACCESS should be signed. |
