Abstract & Paper Submission Guidelines

Contributing papers must be addressed on innovative ideas and the latest scientific and technological results covering the above pointed out topics concerning the field of the sensors, actuators, micro and nanosystems.

- Theory, modelling and design.
- Materials and technology.
- Micro- and nanofabrication for sensors and actuators.
- Physical, chemical and biological sensors and actuators.
- Micro fluidic & micro analysis devices and systems.
- Optical MEMS and RF MEMS.
- Micro power generation.
- Interface and system issues. Sensor networks.
- Packaging and assembly.

Please read the following guidelines carefully before preparing your 2-page abstract or your 4-page extended paper for submission.

2-page abstracts must be submitted through the on-line submission no later than
May 12,2006 (Extended becuase of server failure).
Notification of acceptance will be given 1 June 1, 2006. Accepted authors contributions are invited to submit a 4-page extended paper to be  published in the conference proceedings distributed to all attendees on a CD-rom. All delegates will receive printed conference proceedings including all accepted 2-page abstracts at the conference. After the workshop, Elsevier publishing will release a special issue of the Journals of Sensors and Actoators (A) and Sensors and Actuators (B) covering Eurosensors XX. Selected authors will be invited to submit updated manuscripts for this special issue.

The International Programme Committee will not consider abstracts, which have not been prepared in accordance with the following instructions. Abstracts delivered in an unsuitable format will be returned to the author for correction.

1) Create your 2-page abstract
o Templates are available in 2 versions. For authors who wish to prepare their abstract using MS Word, a MS-Word template (*.doc file) has been prepared. This file contains all necessary style definitions. Authors who prefer to write their paper with different tools, can download the guidelines that are presented in the PDF file provided below.
o Use of one of these templates is mandatory.
o Only PDF-format is accepted when submitting the abstract (to guarantee that the abstract will be published correctly).
o Maximum number of pages per abstract is 2.
o Abstracts must be written in English.
o Use only the English alphabet A-Z when naming the file.
o Maximum size of the attachment is 2 MB.

2) Submit your 2-page abstract
o Only abstracts submitted through the on-line submission will be considered.
o Abstracts cannot be submitted by post, fax or e-mail.
o It is the authors responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar, or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author.
o Acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be returned to your e-mail address within 2 hours. If you do not receive the e-mail, your submission was not completed and your paper needs to be re-submitted.
o Only the corresponding author will receive e-mail concerning the status and is thus responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract.
o You can follow the progress of your abstract on-line by entering your Personal Page. Your Personal Page makes it possible for you to:
- make changes until submission deadline April 28.
- read and print your abstract

3) Submit your 4-page extended paper
o Authors of an accepted abstract will be asked to submit a 4-page extended paper for publication in the conference proceedings on the CD. Please follow the guidelines above for the preparation of the 2-page abstract.

Presentation Guidelines
The programme committee will decide on the form in which the accepted abstracts are to be presented, thus as poster or as oral presentation.

At the end of the conference, the best 3 posters will be awarded a 'Best Poster Award' and the 3 best oral presentations a `Best Presentation Award`.

Only computer projection will be provided for oral presentations.

The maximum space available for each poster is 120 x 90 cm (height x width).
Make your poster easy to identify, preferably by title, author(s) and the author affiliation(s) in the heading. Use clear and precise language. Avoid lengthy formulations and superfluous wording. Keep the text to a minimum and make a good use of illustrative figures. Use good resolution pictures and figures. Use contrasting colors. Avoid light color on light background and dark color on dark background. Do not use dark shadows with dark text.

Poster-online
We would like to inform you that a new Poster-online service is available!
You will be able to order and pay your specific scientific poster by filling in a form and uploading your texts and pictures. Your poster will then be delivered to your conference venue where you can pick it up at the registration desk.
