| WELCOME TO MME 2005 - GÖTEBORG, SWEDEN The 16th Workshop on Micromachining, Micromechanics and Microsystems took place in Göteborg on September 4-6, 2005. The MME workshop is a well established and recognized European event in the field of Micromachining, Microengineering and Technology for creating microsensors and microactuators. At the MME workshop scientists and people from industry intrested in the field gather annually. The goals are stimulation and improvement of know-how in the field, as well as the establishment of cooperation and friendship between all delegates. Thus MME is arranged so that people can meet in a friendly and informal atmosphere. That is why the accent lies on mutual discussions around poster presentations rather than on formal oral presentations. Göteborg, the second largest city of Sweden, is situated on the beautiful south west coast. With its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, Göteborg proudly lives up to its reputation of having the charm of a small town with all the opportunities of a big city. MME 2005 was held at the Chalmers Conference Centre, on the premises of the Chalmers University of Technology, located near the city centre. |
