| Paper & Poster Submission Guidelines
Please read the following guidelines carefully before preparing your 4-page paper for submission.
Papers must be submitted through the on-line submission no later than June 17, (extended deadline) 2005. Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail in July 2005. Accepted papers will be published in the Workshop Digest distributed to all attendees and presented as posters supported by a short 3-minute oral presentation. After the workshop, IOP publishing will release a special issue of the Journal of Micromechanics and Micro-engineering covering MME'05. Selected authors will be invited to submit updated manuscripts for this special issue.
The Programme Committee will not consider papers, which have not been prepared in accordance with these instructions. Papers delivered in an unsuitable format will be returned to the author.
1) Create your 4-page paper
o Templates are available in 3 versions. For authors who wish to prepare their paper using MS Word, a MS-Word template (*.doc file) has been prepared. Authors who prefer to write their paper with different tools, can download the guidelines that are presented in the PDF file or LaTeX file provided below.
o Use of one of these templates is mandatory.
o Only PDF-format is accepted when submitting the paper (to guarantee that the paper will be published correctly).
o Maximum number of pages per paper is 4.
o Papers must be written in English.
o Use only the English alphabet A-Z when naming the file.
o Maximum size of the attachment is 2 MB.

Poster Guidelines
The maximum space available for each poster is 120 x 90 cm (height x width).
Make your poster easy to identify, preferably by title, author(s) and the author affiliation(s) in the heading. Use clear and precise language. Avoid lengthy formulations and superfluous wording. Keep the text to a minimum and make a good use of illustrative figures. Use good resolution pictures and figures. Use contrasting colors. Avoid light color on light background and dark color on dark background. Do not use dark shadows with dark text.
Each poster will be introduced in an oral session, with a three-minute presentation. Due to the large number of posters to be presented, authors will be strictly limited to 3 minutes. Authors should prepare a maximum of 3-4 overhead slides for this oral presentation (PowerPoint presentations are not possible). A slide with the poster title and authors will be displayed on a second screen so the authors should not require a title slide. The oral presentation should focus on introducing the poster content and should not
attempt to present detailed results, which are included in the poster and can be discussed in the poster session. At the end of the workshop, the best 3 posters will be awarded a 'Best Poster Award'.
