| Solid State Electronics Laboratory
The research at Solid State Electronics Laboratory focuses on device structures and components based on silicon and III-V materials, circuits and microsystems and circuit design in superconducting electronics, so-called Rapid Single Flux Quantum (RSFQ).
The microsystem research manages the possibility to cross-disciplinary combine systems consisting not only of electrical but also mechanical and optical elements.
Within the area of superconducting RSFQ-electronic the activities are design oriented and looking into superconducting electronics to be used for base stations in future mobile communication systems.
The investigation on device structures is mainly focused on quantum dots, quantum wires and high-K gate dielectrics for futures CMOS technologies.
The electronic production group focuses on new methods for electronic packaging and new eco-friendly production processes.
During the last few years new research area concerning hybrid solutions between silicon and molecular electronics has grown up.
